Ensign Lake

Ensign is a large 1,411-acre lake near Ely with a maximum depth of 30 feet. It's fairly open and can get windy and choppy. The lake connects by open water to Boot, Splash, and Trident. Access is via portages ranging from 54 rods (moderate) to 208 rods (strenuous), with the easiest entry from Ashigan. Ensign offers 38 campsites and excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and panfish.
