Trout is a large, deep lake of 7,425 acres near Tower with 48 campsites. The open water, exposed character makes it prone to wind and potential windbound conditions. Paddlers can access it via portages ranging from 129 rods (hard) to 270 rods (strenuous) from East Vermilion, Little Trout, Merritt, Oriniack, and Pine. Walleye, lake trout, northern pike, and smallmouth bass fishing are available.
