Battle Lake is a 76-acre, shallow lake near Ely with extensive weedy bays ideal for bluegill, northern pike, and walleye fishing. Protected from wind, it offers small, sheltered paddling conditions. Reach Battle via an easy 16-rod portage from Phantom or a challenging 150-rod carry from Hassel. The lake holds just one campsite and connects by open water to Saca Lake.
