Snowbank Lake

Snowbank is a large, deep lake near Ely offering 15 campsites across 4,655 acres of mostly open water. As an exposed lake prone to wind, paddlers should expect challenging conditions and possible windbounding during storms. Access is easiest via the 29-rod portage from Ima, though connections to surrounding lakes like Wooden Leg range from 29 to 146 rods. The lake supports diverse fishing including walleye, northern pike, lake trout, and smallmouth bass.
