Loon Lake is a large, deep 2,017-acre lake near Crane Lake with mostly open water and fairly exposed conditions that can get windy and choppy. The lake holds 16 campsites and offers excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and panfish including bluegill and yellow perch. Access via the 31-rod easy portage from Lac la Croix connects to Loon River on a challenging 135-rod carry. Little Loon is accessible by open water.
