Horseshoe Lake

Horseshoe is a 188-acre lake near Maple Hill in Cook County with a maximum depth of 26 feet. The lake is small and sheltered with extensive shallow, weedy bays that provide productive fish habitat. It has nine campsites and connects by open water to Vista, Gore, and Caribou. Access is via a 19-rod easy portage, with further portages to Caribou (22 rods), Allen (52 rods), and Gaskin (98 rods, moderate difficulty).
