Caribou Lake

Caribou is a 246-acre lake near Grand Marais with maximum depth of 26 feet and extensive shallow, weedy bays that provide productive fish habitat. The small, sheltered lake offers 14 campsites and is accessible via easy 13-rod portage. From Caribou, paddlers can reach Horseshoe and Meeds by open water, with portages also leading to Lizz and Swamp lakes for those willing to tackle longer carries.
