Cherokee is a large, 837-acre lake near Tofte with mostly deep, open water and a maximum depth of 142 feet. The easiest access is the 12-rod portage from Gordon, while longer carries connect to Town (27 rods), Ranger (78 rods), and Sitka (165 rods). Open water connects directly to Gordon, Snub, Sniff, and Town. The lake has 19 campsites and good fishing for lake trout, northern pike, burbot, and white sucker.
