Burntside is a large, deep lake near Ely offering excellent walleye, northern pike, and lake trout fishing. The 7,314-acre lake is exposed to wind and can become windbound. Multiple portage routes access neighboring lakes: Chant (50 rods, moderate), Clark (96 rods), West Twin (209 rods), and Crab (365 rods, strenuous). Six campsites accommodate overnight paddlers on this wind-exposed water.
