South Fowl is a 508-acre shallow lake near Hovland with extensive weedy bays that provide productive fish habitat for northern pike, smallmouth bass, walleye, and yellow perch. The lake connects directly by open water to North Fowl and Loft, requiring no portages. Two campsites are available. Spiny waterflea have been documented in the lake.
