Portage Lake is a 128-acre, sheltered lake near Grand Marais with a maximum depth of 55 feet. Extensive shallow, weedy bays provide productive fish habitat for green sunfish, splake, and white sucker. Access is via a hard 135-rod portage from One Island. The lake offers two campsites and connects by open water to Iron and Surber lakes.
