Clear Lake

Clear Lake near Ely covers 248 acres with maximum depth of 17 feet and extensive shallow, weedy bays that provide productive fish habitat. The lake is small and sheltered from wind. Access is via a moderate 63-rod portage (easiest entry), though longer carries to Eskwagama (95 rods) and North Branch Kawishiwi (176 rods) are available. Five campsites accommodate visitors, and the lake holds walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, yellow perch, and white sucker.
