Birch (Canada) Lake

Birch Lake is a 397-acre lake near Ely with maximum depth of 34 feet and extensive shallow, weedy bays that provide productive fish habitat. The lake has 11 campsites and offers excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and panfish. Access via the 7-rod easy portage from Sucker Lake connects to that lake by open water; longer portages reach Carp (52 rods) and Frog (102 rods, hard carry).
