Big Rice is a 403-acre shallow lake with extensive weedy bays that provide productive fish habitat. The lake has one campsite and connects to La Pond by open water. Access is via a 34-rod easy portage, though reaching other areas may require the strenuous 501-rod carry to Hook. Maximum depth is five feet.
